I want to accompany you on your journey.
Meet Michele
It takes a great deal of courage to reach out and ask for help. No matter how much we are struggling, sometimes it is easier to just keep muddling along. I consider it an honor and a privilege to walk with people who are experiencing the challenges that we all face in life- relationship issues, loss of someone we love, difficult situations at work, and all sorts of change- and reach out for help. My approach is to work with you to understand the circumstances you are facing, to help you know yourself better, and to develop healthy coping strategies that assist you in facing these challenges. My style is warm, compassionate, and engaging. We work together and you will set the pace and goals for our work.
I am proud to be a licensed clinical social worker because social work as a profession involves a passion for social justice and working with people from marginalized and oppressed populations. Social workers see the world through a lens of "person in environment", which means that we are all part of various systems where we are interconnected; thus, each of us is impacted by the people and circumstances around us. Sometimes the change process involves changes to relationships and circumstances, in addition to internal changes.
My goal is to help you understand the origin of behavior patterns you wish to change, the impact of people and systems around you on your goals, and some ways you might begin to move to a place of peace and self-compassion. My areas of interest include young adults, relationships, couples, grief and loss, parenting, and adjustment to life changes.
I am also a doula and I assist women with emotional support during labor and childbirth as a volunteer at Denver Health. I enjoy working with people who are expecting a child or transitioning to parenthood.
Our therapeutic approach
Therapy with Liminal Spaces is a collaborative and mutual process. I seek to understand your goals, co-create a plan for growth, and support you along the way.
Each individual who enters therapy is unique and deserves a therapeutic plan that is designed specifically for them. Drawing upon a variety of therapeutic modalities (including AEDP, attachment theory, family systems, and EMDR), we will co-create a client-centered plan that meets each your personal hopes for therapy. I have training in working with trauma and will work to ensure that your therapy is healing and not retraumatizing.
Above all, I am warm, relational, and human-centered. I believe that people author their own stories, and have the power to change these stories.
